Knowledge Management in Eco-tourism: A Case Study

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNAI,volume 3336))

Abstract

Ecotourism has been marketed as a form of nature-based tourism, in response to a number of local and regional initiatives associated with marketing nature conservation, local traditions and culture, as alternatives to mass tourism and the need for businesses that can be managed by people without large amounts of money. In this paper we try to apply the principles and methodologies of Knowledge Management in the development of integrated strategic plans concerning ecotourism, in regions with particular natural beauty, examining the case of the National Park and the Gorge of Samaria’s in Crete.
