Abstract

We show how “self-awareness”, through on-line self-monitoring and measurement, coupled with intelligent adaptive behaviour in response to observed data, can be used to offer quality of service to network users based on the “Cognitive Packet Network” (CPN) design.

This research is supported by U.S. Army PEOSTRI via NAWC under Contract No. N61339-02-C0117, and NSF under Grants No. EIA0086251 and EIA0203446.
