Real-Time Audiovisual Feature Extraction for Online Service Provision over DVB Streams

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNCS,volume 2849))

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to achieve real time extraction of content based metadata from the audiovisual information embedded in a DVB stream, with the innovative aim to on-line including into the same stream both the extracted metadata and applications developed over them, following the recommendations of recently created standards (DVB-MHP, MPEG-7, Metadata over MPEG-2, etc.) and of those still under standardization (e.g., MPEG-21). From this point of view, this is a kind of On-line AV Service Provision Centre, which is a main part of what we will refer to as DYMAS System. This paper describes the most challenging part of this system.
