Abstract
Multimedia presentations are complex compositions of monomedia objects. In this paper, we focus on the temporal model of multimedia presentations. After recalling existing approaches, we present a set of algebraic operators to create complex scenarios. Then, we define their semantics based on causal relations between temporal points. We finally present useful properties of multimedia terms derived from this semantics.
