Abstract
Storytelling for children has received more and more attention. With the development of computer technology, many researchers put forward their novel storytelling systems to change the traditional way of storytelling. However, most of these systems have limited roles. Current modeling tools are mainly for professional users, so it’s hard for children to add roles or props into the storytelling systems. In order to provide a larger space for children’s creation, we present a pen-based 3D role modeling tool. The tool uses a pen-based interface, gesture recognition technology and role templates. With this tool, children can create various roles for their stories easily and enjoy the storytelling experience more.
