Quantum Well Lasers for Medical Industry

Book cover Bioinformatics Research and Development (BIRD 2008)

Abstract

A distributed feedback (DFB) multiple quantum well (MQW) InGaAsP-InGaAs laser for use in biological and medicine industry is investigated. The laser is amplitude modulated and its output features (height, shape and rate of pulses) are investigated in terms of the frequency of modulation and modulation depth. It is proven a large variety of outputs as a result of the nonlinear behavior of the laser.
