Abstract

The paper introduces several aspects of electronic content characteristics with their emphasis into Distance Learning technologies. They all have to be taken under consideration before the application development process starts. They also have to be defined in case the developer wants to run the on-line mode, of distance learning environment. To fulfil the given goals several items of management shell were introduced. The elaborated platform (Multimedia Applications Management Shell - MAMS), for applications development was introduced as well. Both platforms are simplifying the application structure and the unit control processes. The MAMS is supported by Quality Repetitions Unit (QRU) controlling the application progress and application repetition; working in accordance with Kay’s [1], [2] interactive model. Finally they both produce the application status, transmitted into the user’s personal data record.
