Zusamenfassung

Dieser Überblicksbeitrag wirft Schlaglichter auf den Stand, die Chancen und die Grenzen Intelligenter Fahrzeuge. Ausgehend von der Zielsetzung von Fahrerassistenzsystemen werden zunächst die bereits früh realisierten vollautonomen Fahrzeuge aus der Forschung den bisher im Markt realisierten Fahrerassistenzfunktionen gegenüber gestellt. Als eine treibende Kraft für dieses Forschungsfeld kristallisieren sich jüngst die sog. Grand und Urban Challenge Wettbewerbe in den USA heraus. Der Beitrag schließt mit einem Blick auf den Sonderforschungsbereich Kognitive Automobile.
