Summary

There is a growing interest to introduce a Graphical User Interface (GUI) into embedded systems for improving their usability. However, both development and implementation cost hinder GUI from penetration to real products. In this paper, we propose an integrated GUI design framework for cooperation among specialists related to the GUI development and a high performance GUI software and hardware platform for embedded systems to solve these issues. We confirm their availability and impact for GUI design process by applying the framework and the platform to four kinds of GUI products.
