Abstract
This chapter describes the fundamentals of interfaces between graphics adapters (or graphics controllers) as signal sources and the input of display modules. We distinguish between analog and digital transmission while the latter divides into parallel and serial methods. In this chapter, analog and digital parallel interfaces are described; serialized data transmission standards will be presented in the chapters that follow.
