Abstract
The purpose of this research is to generate impact sounds often used as sound effects through physical simulation using cellular automaton (CA). The authors designed a model based on the wave propagation CA model. In the model, desired sound is generated by setting several parameters. This paper shows the effects of each parameter on the sound, and shows that various impact sound can be generated by the model. Production cost of sound effects can be reduced by using this model.
