Abstract

Virtual Reality technology (VR) or Virtual environment, a computer system to create and experience virtual world, is developed by computer and can act on users by vision, acoustic and touch, who can be personally on the scene by interactive environment simulation. Now, the virtual reality is widely applied in many areas especially in education and job training fields. The critical problems of VR system are virtual environment construction and man-machine interaction realization. From the view of the field application, a desktop Virtual Reality system is chosen to construct virtual machining tool and virtual machining workshop by using virtual reality software platform Virtools. The roaming in workshop and man-machine interactive operation on machining tool are realized in this paper.
