Abstract
In this paper, a reference framework is proposed for managing the error variation in multistage machining processes (MMPs). In MMPs, quality attributes of workpiece may be subject to many different process elements, such as fixture error, machine tool error, etc. It is a key issue to manage the machining error variation cased by these elements for improving the final quality of product. An information management method is firstly provided, which is used to manage the basic information of MMPs. Based on this, a control and management method of error variation is established. Here, grey-model theory and least square method are used to analyze the rule of error variation at single process and in MMPs respectively. The grey-model theory is used to predict the changes of quality attributes, and then the least square method is used to explore the associated relationship between the change of the quality attributes and the working condition of machining equipment.
