Abstract

With the management development, the complexity has been a basic character of equipment management. It directly affects the impact of the equipment management whether or not the complexity of equipment management can be analyzed and controlled. From the view of information theory point, an information-theoretic approach is applied to study the complexity measurement of equipment management, and an entropy-based measurement model is constructed. Additionally, as an application, the proposed theoretical model is used to investigate the effectiveness of production planning, where the concepts of mean degeneration velocity and the similarity are introduced to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of production planning. Examples show that the proposed method is feasible for the feasible analysis and performance evaluation of product planning.
