Abstract
Welcome to the 17th International Conference on Cooperative Information Systems (CoopIS 2009).
This year CoopIS was held in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal, during November 3-5, 2009.
Cooperative information systems (CISs) are the basic component of the information management infrastructure that supports much of what we do in the world. It happens to inherit challenging problems from many disciplines, the solutions to which are early in the food chain of innovation in computer science. The CIS domain includes enterprise integration and interoperability, distributed systems technologies, middleware, business process management (BPM), and Web and service computing architectures and technologies.
