Abstract
The nuclear safeguards system is a very specialized domain which demands dedicated modelling languages to capacitate the preservation of nuclear knowledge while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of safeguards related activities. Inspection modelling method represents a process oriented and a knowledge based approach created through the integration of modelling languages which cover one or more of three perspectives of the underlying conceptual framework. First, the operational perspective which covers all safeguards objectives and the related inspection processes. As second is the knowledge management perspective which models the enterprise nuclear knowledge. Finally, the technology perspective with modelling languages enabling the use of IT services in support of inspection processes. This study represents a conceptual proposal for merging the three perspectives into a knowledge based and process oriented modelling framework. The approach is expected to improve operational aspects of inspection and contribute to the overall nuclear knowledge management.
