Abstract
In this paper we present a generalized model of a resonate-and-fire-type digital spiking neuron. Depending on a stimulation input, the neuron generates various firing spike-trains. Using a hybrid return map, we can analyze typical bifurcation phenomena of the neuron. The analysis clarifies that the generalized model can mimic many responses of biological spiking neurons.
