Abstract

Because of the intercoordination and restriction between designing checking point and reliability index, it brings some difficulties to the reliability index for solution with checking point method (JC method). In the paper, the maximum likelihood method of determining the reliability index and the checking point is proposed with maximum likelihood theory under the condition of meeting limit state equation. This method is relatively simple and rapidly solution, it can meet the present engineering requirements. Seen from the two examples in the paper, this method is feasible to solve reliability index and its corresponding checking point. The solving process is simplified; the tedious iteration of traditional method is avoided.
