Abstract

In this paper, a kind of morphological filter with the combination of structure elements is designed to eliminate noise effectively and make weld image edge detection better. Experimental methods are conducted to compare the processing results of the morphological filtering and traditional filtering. And the result shows that this algorithm of the morphological filtering is simple and effective and has high anti-noise performance. The algorithm gives attention to both aspects of smoothing noises and protecting edges; the edge localization accuracy is higher and has practical values for engineering practice.
