Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to suggest a method to operate local government’s green landscape and environment-oriented urban planning on website applying geographical information systems. By this proposal we can build up more realistic landscape and urban planning model, equipped with citizen participation and marketing. We propose an approach that is applicable to U-City development based on web-GIS and its related systems. Our approach is built on six selected elements of U-City system. We try to develop a simple physical planning system to sustainable and participatory planning system that is intangible and marketing capacity. The outcomes of the suggested study includes sustainable eco-friendly urban planning, urban planning and administration information sharing, and city marketing and citizen education system as well. They are applicable to whatever cities that are planning to adopt U-City system or advanced telecommunication or planning tools into their urban frames.
