Abstract
This paper presents a method to detect the rotor position of Permanent Magnet motors at standstill by using a suitable sequence of voltage pulses. Based on this method, a suitable sequence of voltage pulses is applied to the stator windings. We can estimate the magnets position by the current variation of the pulses. The obtained results show that this method is not only efficient but also need bit of motor parameters, it can omit motor internal examination parts and may be used on other type of motors.
