Abstract

Applying the object-oriented programming idea of Visual Basic 6.0, according to the temporal-spatial variation of the Qingyi River water environment, the region integrity, the typicality of the studied factors and the information access, and with the aid of previous researches and the advanced ArcGIS platform, a mathematical model of ecological water requirement (EWR) as well as a decision support system (DSS) for the Qingyi River watershed was designed and developed. Human-computer interface, the database subsystem and model database subsystem were debugged and improved to launch the practical application of spatial function analysis and the theory research of the calculation, assessment, prediction and control of the EWR for the Qingyi River watershed. They are important to advance the transition of the water exploitation, planning and management of the typical eco-environmental vulnerable region in the upstream of the Yangtze River and to accelerate the modernization and informatization of water resources management and the eco-environment recovery and reconstruction.
