Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is gaining an importance in variety of Applications. The security in the sensor network communication is highly recommended to provide data confidentiality and authentication. Existing security approaches in Wireless Sensor networks is basically based on some particular assumptions about the participating nodes and the network environment combined for a specific application. In Sensor networks there is resource constraint as the nodes work on battery and therefore low energy consumption is needed. In our paper for the purpose of security in Sensor networks we have shown an approach to apply encryption algorithms like DES, Blowfish using CBC block cipher mode. This approach will achieve high data confidentiality and authentication.
