Abstract

The starting point for each controller design exercise is a reliable and accurate model of the system under investigation. In this paper, an enhanced model of a Switched-Mode power supply for the application of Point-of-Load conversion is presented. After identifying the critical parameters, they are included in a refined model. Subsequently, the model parameters are verified against experimental results. We will show that the derived model accurately reflects the real system and is a reliable starting point for controller design tasks and optimizations.
