Abstract

With the limited resource constraint the data availability in Mobile Adhoc NETworks (MANETs) is low. Node mobility caused the frequent network partition. Data replication significantly improves the data accessibility. In this paper we proposed a new data replication technique (CBRM) based on clusters. In CBRM we assume that whole network is partitioned into several clusters and each cluster has its cluster head (CH). Each CH will maintain a table called Available Replica Table (ART), and all data requests are fulfilled by the CH based upon this ART. Data consistency will maintained by TTL value and this TTL value is also used in replica replacement. CBRM is simulated on OMNET++ simulator and simulation results shows that CBRM improves the data availability as well as overall performance of the network.
