Abstract

In order to receive a discount of car insurance, many vehicle drivers in Korea tend to buy a no-driving day car insurance, which is a special contract system under the terms of the contract that the driver cannot drive a car every single same day selected among from Monday to Friday. After buying this special no-driving day car insurance system, the driver has to mount a Driving Information Check Device (OBD terminal) on the car, which is mandatory. Drivers who bought this car insurance, however, have to send their car driving records of their own car driving information check devices into their car insurance companies, and the processing step is cumbersome. In this paper, based on the ’Certification Regulations of Driving Information Check Device’ of the Korea Insurance Development Institute, in order to implement that the insurers can transmit their records directly into their insurance companies by using smart phones and local-range wireless communications, a new hardware and a software were studied and designed, and the contents will be treated here.
