Abstract

In the paper we discuss a failure and servicing model of software applications that employ the service-oriented paradigm for defining cooperation with clients. The model takes into account a time-probabilistic relationship between different servicing outcomes and failures modes. We put forward a set of measures for estimating dependability of service provisioning from the client’s viewpoint and present analytical models to be used for the assessment of the mean servicing and waiting times depending on client’s timeout settings.
