Abstract

The influence of trust on the adoption of B2B international e-commerce by Chinese firms was empirically investigated by a questionnaire survey of Chinese international trade professionals. The major findings are that, first, for both the risky and non-risky components of e-commerce, trust only affects the adoption of some, but not all, of them. This contrasts with the current assumption that trust only impacts the adoption of the risky components of e-commerce. Secondly, there are also statistically significant relationships among the various components of e-commerce, both within each type and between them.
