Abstract

In the standard AODV protocol, the routing table keeps a relatively fixed field called lifetime to judge whether a route table entry is overdue or not. In this way, the routing table can be renewed dynamically. However, this method doesn’t take the request number of a node into consideration, which will do harm to the improvement of the network performance. In view of this case, the author came up with an improved protocol called MYAODV which used the request number to determine the lifetime of each table route entry, and then made it come true based on NS2. To verify the effect of this new protocol, a series of experiments were made. The result of the experiments shows that the new protocol can truly make the network perform better.
