Abstract

This paper presents a mechanism providing a seamless mobile service without cutoff and reconnection in digital library system. In WLAN, mobile devices(mobile nodes: MN) that are provided all kinds of services have experienced cutoff service, so that the MNs must reconnect to server to retain the services according to the MNs’ movement. The proposed technique solves those problems using AP identification number(AP_#) as a new IP header part and unchanged IP address that is assigned from AP accessed for the first time in WLAN. The size of IP header part is only 2-byte long that is composed of 2 AP_# fields(10-bits) and 6-bits long sequence number(SN) field. The IP header part and unchanged IP address perform a seamless mobile digital library service without cutoff and reconnection.
