Abstract

When constructing a new public building such as a supermarket, an important question raises is how to optimise the fire evacuate configuration in the building to reduce the lost when fire occurs. This paper presents a model and implement it as a tool to optimise the evacuation configuration in a buildings, in particular, the evacuation signs plan of the Metro supermarket of Hanoi. The evacuation signs setup is a critical and several changes from the existing one could, according to simulation, reduce casualties in case of fire emergency.
