Abstract
Is Natural Language Processing (NLP) really complex, as is so often claimed? And if so, why? What did we achieve in this domain - in a sense to be more clearly delineated later – after more than fifty years of research and development? How much more can we expect from the next decade or two? These are the issues on which I would like to reflect in the following lines.
