Abstract

A software technology suitable for multimedia is presented based on a set of coordinated approaches. The importance of integration is stressed in the multimedia and workplace context. This leads to the notion of cooperative media-integrated software and corresponding software technology. Three important elements of a modeling and development framework for such software are motivated, denoted as ‘logical and physical mobility’, ‘multimodal interaction’ and ‘cooperation’. The latter two elements are elaborated by presenting corresponding approaches.
