Abstract

Industrial monitoring and control applications set strict real-time performance to industrial wireless networks. Transmission scheduling is one of the key technologies to guarantee the real-time performance of industrial wireless network. For the mesh-star topology, this paper first analyzes the lower limit of the required time slots and channels for completing transmission, and then designs a light-weight multi-channel real-time transmission scheduling algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm yields better network performance in comparison to other scheduling algorithms, in terms of time overhead and throughput.
