Zusammenfassung

Innerhalb der letzten Jahre hat sich der Computer für den Chirurgen zu einem wichtigen Hilfsmittel für die Operationsplanung und -durchführung entwickelt. Mit Hilfe des Rechners kann das medizinische Wissen durch genaue Messungen, verbesserte Auswertungsmethoden der Patientendaten und neue Werkzeuge für die Operationsplanung ergänzt werden. Der Chirurg bekommt dadurch die Möglichkeit, die Operation sehr genau im Voraus zu planen und jeden Schritt interaktiv auf einer graphischen Oberfläche in einer virtuellen Welt zu betrachten.
