Summary

SAINT is a modeling and simulation technique developed to be used for design and analysis of complex man-machine-systems(MMS). SAINT provides the conceptual framework for representing process models of MMS in form of networks ( consisting basically of tasks, resources which perform these tasks and the logical sequence of tasks) and descriptions of continuous state variables. A MMS-model using this framework is the basis for a subsequent combined discrete continuous digital computer simulation by the SAINT simulation program. Simulation facilitates the assessment of the overall system performance of the MMS and the contribution that system components (men, machines) make.
