Abstract

Four key issues in reliability modeling of fault-tolerant systems (imperfect coverage, large state space, non-exponential behavior and error estimation) are discussed. Some general methods as well as HARP (The Hybrid Automated Reliability Predictor) methods of dealing with these problems are outlined. An annotated bibliography provides pointers to the literature for further information.
