Daneben existieren Gateways in andere Netze. In EARN/BITNET können Nachrichten, Dateien und Stapelaufträge übertragen werden.

Abstract

EARN is a European computer network that has been built in 1984 for better communications between scientists. EARN is based on the same store and foreward’ techniques as the American BITNET. EARN and BITNET actually form a unique worldwide network with about 430 nodes presently connected. There are Gateways to other networks too. EARN/BITNET is capable for transmission of messages, files and batch jobs.
