In Technik und Naturwissenschaften stellt sich häufig das Problem sehr große Datenmengen, die zudem weitgehend unregelmäßig verstreut sind, zu interpolieren beziehungsweise zu approximieren. Im Rahmen dieses Artikels werden effiziente Algorithmen vorgestellt und an praktischen Beispielen erläutert.
