Zusammenfassung
Das Portable Kommunikations-Tranport-System (PKTS) stellt eine einheitliche Schnittstelle für Netzwerk Applikationen dar. Es unterstützt herstellerspezifische und offene Kommunikations-Architekturen in einer heterogenen Umgebung verschiedenartiger Betriebssysteme. Es wird gezeigt, wie die objekt-orientierten Konzepte der Vererbung (Inheritance) und abstrakte Methoden (Deferred Operations, Virtual Functions) zur Konstruktion eines portablen, erweiterbaren Kommunikations-Tranport-Systems eingesetzt werden können. Aufbauend auf PKTS ist ein Send-Receive Transport-Interface (SRTI) realisiert, das einen zuverlässigen Datagramm-Dienst und einen einheitlichen Adressierungs-Mechanismus über verschiedenartige Netzwerke hinweg anbietet. Eine erste Implementation existiert für die Unix Versionen: BSD 4.3, System V.3 und AIX 2.2 für die offenen Transport-Dienste DoD TCP/IP, UDP/IP und die verbindungsorientierten und verbindungslosen OSI Transport-Dienste. Die Implementierungs-Sprache ist C++.
