Zusammenfassung
Modellierung und Entwicklung eines modernen Büro-Informationssystem (BIS) können nicht mehr länger mit klassischen Methoden gelöst werden. Die Haupt-Informationsträger in einer Büroumgebung sind Dokumente, aus denen wir Wissen extrahieren müssen, um eine bestmögliche Dokumentenverwaltung zu gewährleisten. Hierzu sind Modelle und Techniken der küchen Intelligenz erforderlich. Basierend auf dem extrahierten Wissen wird im Projekt MARS ein Modell zur Wissensverarbeitung aufgestellt. MARS vermittelt einen Eindruck darüber, wie die Wissensstrukturen für eine spezielle Applikation, nämlich die Dokumenten Retrieval Komponente, angewandt werden.
