ACKNOWLEDGE Acquisition of Knowledge — an overview

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of ESPRIT project 2576 ACKNOWLEDGE. The project will last three years and has a total manpower budget of 77 manyears. It has started at 1st January 1989 and so, at this moment we can only describe the goal of the project and the approach that is taken. (A more detailed description of the project can be found in [4].)

The research reported here was carried out in the course of a research project partially funded by the Esprit Programme of the Commission of the European Communities as project number 2576. The partners in this project are General Electric Company, University of Nottingham (all UK), Cap Sesa Innovation (F), SINTEF, Computas Expert Systems, Veritas Research (all Norway), Telefonica (Spain) and the University of Amsterdam (NL).
