Abstract

Development of technology in the second half of the 20th century that is primarily directed to the improvement of the welfare of a man as a biological species has utterly undesirable aspect. The effective economical development results in concentration of population on the small territories that are closely related to the intensive production processes and therefore very vulnerable in case of technogenic accidents. Such way of development substantially changes the paradigm of the biological safety both for a man as an individual and society as a whole. In such a world it is not sufficient to protect a man against diseases, caprices of the nature and direct risk during his work. A new source of risk appears that is technogenic by its origin, global by the scale and depth of its consequences, unpredictable and, unfortunately, possible.
