Kurzfassung
Auch in den Geowissenschaften haben wissensbasierte Systeme in letzter Zeit großes Interesse hervorgerufen. In dieser Arbeit soll am Beispiel der Datenmodellierung und—abspeicherung exemplarisch dargestellt werden, welche Einsatzmöglichkeiten für Methoden der künstlichen Intelligenz im Bereich der Geowissenschaften bestehen. Aus konzeptioneller Sicht ergibt sich insbesondere die Frage nach geeigneten Objektstrukturen und Wissensrepräsentationen. Der Begriff des Geoobjekts kann sich sowohl auf atomare Strukturen (wie z. B. ein Gebäude oder einen Fluß) wie auf molekulare Strukturen (wie z. B. eine Stadt) beziehen. Während im atomaren Bereich die Darstellung der zugrundeliegenden Geometrie im Vordergrund steht, wird man bei molekularen Objekten auf strukturierte Repräsentationen, wie z. B. semantische Netze oder Frames, zurückgreifen können. Die praktische Bedeutung dieser Fragestellungen demonstrieren wir anhand von Beispielen aus dem FAW-Projekt RESEDA, dessen Ziel ein wissensbasiertes System zur Interpretation von Satellitenbildern ist.
