Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag werden neuartige PC-gestützte Werkzeugumgebungen für Personal Information Management (PIM) diskutiert. Diese Tools bieten dem Organisator bisher nicht gekannte flexible Möglichkeiten der computer gestützten Sammlung, Verwaltung und Präsentation von Daten einer komplexen persönlichen Arbeitsumgebung in verteilten Datenbasen. Insbesondere offerieren sie leistungsfähige (Re-) Strukturierungsmöglich-keiten dieser Daten zur Informationsgewinnung via laufend wechselnder Präsentationsalternativen. Als Beispiel eines dieser PIM-Tools wird das seit Mitte 1988 verfügbare Agenda-System (Lotus) zum Informationsmanagement textualer Informationen vorgestellt. Agenda bietet eine Hypertextorientierte, flexible Textdatenbankumgebung, basierend auf Textbausteinen in Items und Notes, die nach Kategoriefamilien explizit oder automatisch klassifiziert werden und in Views präsentierbar sind. Prototypen und Templates für darauf aufgebaute betriebliche Applikationen aus dem CIM-Bereich dienen zur Charakterisierung einiger Leistungsmerkmale dieses Tools bei der ablauf organisatorischen Informationsstrukturierung eines komplexen betrieblichen Teilbereichs. Insbesondere wird auch der Integrationsaspekt der PIM-Tools in das gesamte betriebliche Informations- und Kommunikationssystem, z.B. mittels Workgroup-orientierter Ansätze, unter Verweis auf Archtitekturkonzepte diskutiert.
