Zusammenfassung
Die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit vieler Unternehmen wird heute wesentlich von Flexibilität, kurzen Lieferzeiten und Termintreue bestimmt. Gerade in mittelständischen Unternehmen kommt dem verstärkten Computereinsatz im dispositiven Bereich strategische Bedeutung zu. Für den industriellen Sektor können Produktionsplanungs- und Steuerungssysteme (PPS-Systeme) im Rahmen von CIM-Konzepten grundsätzlich eine wichtige Vorreiterrolle übernehmen.
Der vorliegende Beitrag entstand im Rahmen des von der Stiftung Industrieforschung (SI), Köln, unter Nr. S185 geförderten Forschungsprojekts „Verteiltes Auftragsinformationssystem für mittelständische Einzelfertiger auf LAN-Basis“.
