Zusammenfassung

Der amerikanische Choreograph und Tänzer Merce Cunningham beschrieb im Jahr 1968 seine Vision einer technisch unterstützten Tanzdokumentation. „Er fordert zwei in Zeit- und Raumdarstellung synchronisierte Projektionswände oder Bildschirme in einer technisch noch nicht realisierbaren Vision. Auf einer Leinwand oder einem Bildschirm ist der normale Tanzablauf zweidimensional zu sehen mit Kostümen, Dekor usw. Auf der anderen Leinwand sind in einer dreidimensionalen Aufnahmetechnik „Strichmännchen“ dargestellt, die genaue Informationen über Bewegungsformen und -details vermitteln. Damit soll folgendes erreicht werden: ‘The shapes move in depth giving accurate details as to the movement, the time is indicated on the side by conventional music score or by seconds, minutes, hours, the space is defined by outlines indicating edge of stage, wing if needed, downstage etc. (...). There are refinements necesssary about this, naturally — the face for example, the exact positions (...) distortions of the fingers and the toes, smallnesses not orderly registered.’“ [5]
