Abstract

WAMIS is a Medical Information System that has been applied successfully at the Vienna General Hospital (University of Vienna Medical School) for many years. The centralized architecture of WAMIS used in former years was more and more developed to a solution that integrates independent systems into the central computer system. The argument is that this approach will probably be a successful solution of software and hardware architectures used in hospitals in the near future.
