Zusammenfassung
Für die interaktive Darstellung und Manipulation von Volumendaten wie sie in der medizinischen Diagnostik verwendet werden, besteht der Wunsch nach sehr leistungsfähigen Rechnersystemen. Es wird ein System mit parallel arbeitenden Transputern beschrieben, das durch die Verwendung kleiner Hardwarezusätze in der Lage ist, die Projektion eines Datenwürfels von 2563 Volumenelementen in einer Sekunde zu berechnen.
