Zusammenfassung

Die Situation im Bereich der rechnerunterstützten Herstellung von Dokumenten (Computer aided Publishing) ist gekennzeichnet durch Anwendungssysteme auf EDV-Anlagen (DPS-Systeme) und Bürosystemen (BIKOS) einerseits und durch den Stand der Technik bei modernen Fotosatzanlagen andererseits. Beide Entwicklungslinien bieten Vorteile in Technologie oder Know-how bezüglich der Anwendung, sind aber — von ganz geringen Ausnahmen abgesehen — unabhängig voneinander entstanden und extrem inkompatibel.
